Avatr 07: The Zeekr 7X Killer? Hybrid & Electric Powerhouse Unveiled with Jaw-Dropping Features

September 28, 2024, Beijing, China – China has already secured 58,000 pre-orders for the Zeekr 7X, a significant number in the electric vehicle market. While the review of the Zeekr is available, today brings attention to its competitor, the Avatr 07, a hybrid and electric vehicle expected to rival the Zeekr. While the pricing for the Avatr 07 is still undisclosed, its features are worth exploring, and it may have an edge in affordability compared to the Zeekr 7X.

The Avatr 07 will be available in two versions: a fully electric model and a hybrid. The all-electric version comes with all-wheel drive, two electric motors delivering 590 horsepower, and an acceleration time of 3.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. It is equipped with an 82 kWh battery, which is slightly smaller than the Zeekr’s. The hybrid model, on the other hand, has a 39 kWh battery, a 45-liter fuel tank, and all-wheel drive with a total output of 490 horsepower. It takes 4.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

The Avatr 07 is packed with technology, featuring 27 sensors, including LiDAR, and comes with built-in autopilot and auto-parking systems. It offers advanced suspension with adjustable air suspension and frameless doors covered in synthetic Napa leather. The driver’s seat includes a zero-gravity mode with built-in massage, designed for ultimate comfort, making it superior in driver space and seat design compared to the Zeekr 7X.

The vehicle’s interior is luxurious, with Napa leather covering most surfaces and a Meridian sound system with 25 speakers. The zero-gravity seat extends long enough for maximum comfort, and the cabin is equipped with wireless phone charging ports, climate control features, and a 15.6-inch touchscreen with 4K resolution. The screen’s smoothness, although rated just below the Zeekr, still offers impressive functionality.

The second row provides adequate space with Alcantara-covered ceilings, faux leather backs for the front seats, and built-in charging ports. The panoramic sunroof enhances the sense of space. While the rear does not have double glazing like the front, the materials and design remain high quality.

In terms of performance, the hybrid version’s 39 kWh battery and 490 horsepower offer a competitive range of around 250 km on the CLTC cycle, though this will be reduced by approximately 20% in summer and 50% in winter. The electric version promises faster acceleration and greater power output.

With the Avatr 07, Changan offers a high-end hybrid and electric crossover aimed at providing a luxurious driving experience. Positioned against top competitors like the Zeekr 7X and Lixiang L6, it faces tough competition but stands out with its softer suspension, richer materials, and advanced technological features.
