Shanghai, China – On September 20, Zeekr unveiled its latest all-electric crossover, the Zeekr 7X, marking a significant step forward in the electric vehicle market. The crossover underwent a series of rigorous tests, demonstrating its durability in extreme conditions. It tackled sand dunes, endured off-road challenges, and was subjected to crash tests, including a collision with a truck, to test the strength of its body and passenger safety.
One of the most unique tests involved submerging the Zeekr 7X in water to assess its tightness and flotation capabilities. A standout feature of this model is its innovative window-breaking system, which can be activated with a single button in emergencies. The Zeekr 7X is offered in three trim levels, with prices ranging from $32,600 to $38,250, and boasts an impressive maximum range of 780 kilometers.
Designed as a strong contender in the electric crossover market, the Zeekr 7X combines advanced safety features, comfort, and cutting-edge technology. According to the developers, this vehicle is more than just another crossover; it represents a fusion of off-road capabilities and coupe-like dynamics, showcasing a forward-thinking approach to automotive design.

The design of the Zeekr 7X reflects the influence of former Bentley designer Stefan Sielaff, with futuristic lines and a minimalist aesthetic. One of its most distinctive features is the Zeekr Stargate LED light strip, which integrates multiple functions, including parking lights, matrix headlights, and fog lights. Remarkably, the light strip can project images and text onto the road, adding a novel visual touch.
Further enhancing the vehicle’s look are its blacked-out pillars and retractable door handles. At the rear, the Zeekr 7X features an ultra-thin taillight with SUPER RED technology, creating a striking visual effect. Buyers can choose from a variety of colors, from classic white and black to bold hues like orange and green, ensuring personalization for every owner.
Built on Geely’s advanced 800V modular SEA platform, the Zeekr 7X offers an array of performance features. The top-tier model comes with adaptive air suspension and adjustable ground clearance, ranging from 178 to 223 mm. For lower trims, spring suspension with a ground clearance of 197 mm is available. The crossover’s dimensions are substantial, with a length of 4825 mm, width of 1930 mm, and a height of 1656 or 1666 mm, supported by a 2925 mm wheelbase.
The Zeekr 7X is relatively heavy, with a curb weight between 2298 to 2475 kg, depending on the configuration. Wheel options range from 19 to 20 inches, with Brembo brakes and an option for Akebono 4-piston front calipers. Thanks to its high ground clearance and improved suspension, the Zeekr 7X is well-suited for both urban and off-road driving. Notably, it became the first electric SUV to summit Bilatu, the tallest dune in the world.
The base model of the Zeekr 7X is equipped with a single electric motor producing 422 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque, accelerating to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed capped at 210 km/h. Its 75 kWh battery, developed by Zeekr, provides a range of 605 kilometers and supports fast charging, going from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes.
For those seeking extended range, the top variant features a 100 kWh battery, delivering a range of 780 kilometers and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds. The all-wheel-drive model adds a front motor producing 224 hp, for a total output of 646 hp and 710 Nm, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 3.8 seconds. This version uses a Qilin nickel-manganese-cobalt battery from CATL, offering a range of 705 kilometers.
Safety was a major focus during the launch event, with Zeekr highlighting several groundbreaking features. Addressing the issue of urban flooding, the Zeekr 7X includes a hidden button that allows passengers to break a window if the doors become trapped underwater. The crossover also made headlines for staying afloat for nearly 28 minutes during a test.

In a first for the industry, Zeekr introduced an intelligent child safety seat equipped with active airbags. The deployment algorithm adapts to the nature of the collision, increasing child protection by 50%. This innovation further cements the Zeekr 7X as a family-friendly vehicle, with a five-seat configuration and spacious interior featuring Nappa Full Grain leather seats, entertainment screens, and advanced infotainment systems powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip.
The crossover also boasts a range of tech features, including dual Nvidia Orin-X chips supporting its semi-autonomous driving capabilities, which include night AEB functionality and city driving without a map. With advanced driver assistance systems and a lidar setup, the Zeekr 7X offers a glimpse into the future of intelligent driving.
Deliveries of the Zeekr 7X will begin in China this month, with plans to enter global markets within the next year. The crossover’s three variants are competitively priced, with the all-wheel-drive model offering the highest range and power output. The Zeekr 7X is a symbol of the company’s bold vision for the future of electric mobility, as it pushes the boundaries of design and innovation.
