October 1, 2024, Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic:- Skoda has officially premiered the Elroq, the first of six electric vehicles it plans to launch by 2026. The company is setting a new standard, proving that electric mobility can be as affordable as traditional combustion engine vehicles. Positioned between the Enyaq and Karoq, the Elroq aims to be the most budget-friendly electric car in its class, balancing battery capacity and equipment.
With a starting price of €33,000 in Europe, the Elroq is designed for those who value quality and reliability—hallmarks of the Skoda brand. The 2024 Elroq is the first production model to feature Skoda’s “Modern Solid” design language, introduced in the Vision 7S concept. This new design reflects minimalism and functionality, highlighted by a high-gloss black Tech-Deck fascia replacing the traditional grille.
The vehicle also includes narrow LED daytime running lights that extend across the front, with the main headlights placed at the sides. The top version features 36-segment LED Matrix technology, offering enhanced brightness and precision. The Skoda name now replaces the logo on the hood, marking a shift in branding.
From the side and rear, the Elroq resembles a smaller version of the Enyaq but introduces its own unique touches, such as classic door handles instead of retractable ones. The rear is accentuated by a spoiler and narrow LED lights, while black plastic trims along the wheel arches provide a dynamic look. Aerodynamic optimizations help achieve a drag coefficient of 0.26.
The Skoda Elroq measures 4488 mm in length, 1884 mm in width, and 1625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2765 mm. Its weight is 1949 kg. The car features aerodynamically optimized wheels, available in sizes from 19 to 21 inches. Built on VW Group’s MEB platform, the Elroq will come in four versions: Elroq 50, 60, 85, and 85x.
The base model, Elroq 50, has a 55 kWh battery and a 170 hp motor, offering a range of 370 km and 0-100 km/h in 9 seconds. The Elroq 60 features a 63 kWh battery and a 204 hp motor, with a range of 400 km and 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The flagship Elroq 85 offers an 82 kWh battery and a 285 hp motor, with a range of 580 km and 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. The top-tier Elroq 85x adds all-wheel drive and 300 hp, reaching 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds with a range of 560 km.
All versions support DC fast charging up to 175 kW, allowing 10% to 80% charging in 24-28 minutes. Home charging via a wall box at 11 kW takes 5.5-8 hours. Inside, the Elroq offers a simple, eco-friendly design with a spacious interior, featuring a 13-inch infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, and Skoda’s digital assistant Laura. The vehicle supports physical buttons for key functions like climate control and parking assistance.
The crossover also introduces several new Simply Clever features, including an adjustable luggage rack and multiple storage compartments for charging cables. The trunk can hold between 470 and 1580 liters of luggage. Owners can control various car functions via the MyŠkoda app, such as charging and remote parking.
Safety is a priority, with Travel Assist combining lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, and traffic jam assist. The front radar helps with emergency braking and turns, while Predictive Adaptive Distance Assist optimizes speed for better energy efficiency.
Skoda will also offer a Sportline version with black accents and a limited First Edition based on the Elroq 85. The Elroq is available for order in Europe, with deliveries expected in early 2025, starting with the base Elroq 50 priced at €33,900, the Elroq 85 at €43,900, and the First Edition at €54,610.
